Description (last modified by pjoulaud) (diff)

I'm wondering if "ADD" button is useful for link creation between Parts.
I'd suggest to display "add" button in all search results when Search box is open in the left side.
If user wants to connect a part he just has to click on one of them.

Same for "Attach another document" button for link creation between current Part and Document.
Same for "ADD" button for link creation between current Document and Part.

Hi,

I think it is a bad idea since "adds" buttons are only visible if the search panel is visible and it it shows results
that can be added.

In my opinion, your idea is counter intuitive and would disturb new users.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

Let's revise my proposal. "ADD" button could :
1- If hidden, display the search pannel on the left handside
2- Display "add" button for each convenient search result

If it's a Part-Document link creation, just update the page after action is done.
If it's a Part-Part creation, switch to creation page in order to input quantity and order.

Hi,

Replying to pjoulaud:

If it's a Part-Document link creation, just update the page after action is done.
If it's a Part-Part creation, switch to creation page in order to input quantity and order.

It may still be counter intuitive since if no results are shown or no "attachable" result are returned,
the user will receive no feedback and he will need to search for another result.
Moreover the current page make it possible to quickly add a previous seen object since it is visible in the history bar.
In case of errors, we still need to show a simple and visible message which will be more difficult if we hide
the form.

I'm closing this ticket since it is not really an enhancement.
